Although patent owners have the ability to file a motion to amend claims challenged in an inter partes review, such motions are rarely granted by the Board. In this presentation, Attorneys Kevin P. Moran and Timothy J. Teicher will cover the elements of a successful motion and further analyze alternative procedures for amending claims, such as reexamination, reissue, continuation and supplemental examination.
