Professional Biography

Allie Dumezich focuses her practice on helping clients in the healthcare field navigate that consistently evolving landscape. Using her health sociology background, Allie helps clients analyze data and understand how population and health trends might affect hospitals and other healthcare entities.

With a long-standing interest in health data and its uses, patient privacy and the intersection of the two, she works closely with healthcare attorneys to research hospital policy, payment structures of insurance plans, HIPAA compliance, and compliance with Medicaid and Medicare laws. Before joining the firm full-time, Allie was a law clerk with Barnes & Thornburg.

During law school, Allie was a research assistant with the O’Neill Institute at Georgetown University Law Center, where she assisted in researching international vaccination policy and assessed and categorized U.S. legislation surrounding immunization. She also was a Lane Evans Home Court Fellow with the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless.

While an undergrad, Allie expanded her knowledge in healthcare as a member of The University of Chicago Student Health Advisory Board. On the board, she designed, administered, and presented survey data on patient use of and satisfaction with Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS). She also used her position on the board to communicate with university leadership the health and counseling needs of students, and to advocate that comprehensive descriptions of the university’s use of SHCS patients’ private health information be available and accessible to students.

Allie is not regularly admitted to practice in the local courts of Illinois.
