Professional Biography

As Executive Director of the In-House Counsel Recruiting team, Barrett Avigdor guides strategy for practice growth, client relations and recruiter development. She works closely with her counterparts to ensure a consistent approach to business development and relationship building is maintained throughout the practice. Barrett brings more than 25 years of experience as a senior leader, manager, lawyer, recruiter and executive coach.

Prior to becoming an Executive Director, Barrett was a Managing Director and co-founder of the Transform Advisory Services practice working with corporate law departments and law firms to build highly effective teams by providing organizational design, talent development and culture consulting.

Before joining Major, Lindsey & Africa, Barrett served as in-house counsel for Accenture, a Fortune 100 global technology and outsourcing company. During her almost 20-year career at Accenture, she served in various leadership roles including as Director of Legal Talent Strategy and as global legal lead for the Financial Services, High Tech and Communications business units. In addition, she established and led a legal process outsourcing service center in Mauritius for Accenture.

Barrett is the co-author of the best-seller, "What Happy Working Mothers Know" (Wiley 2009). She is also a certified executive coach and is frequently invited to speak on leadership, healthy team cultures, emotional intelligence, executive presence and related topics.

She has lived in Mexico and Brazil and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. She enjoys international travel, especially when it includes her sons, Alexander and Harrison. She lives in San Diego with her husband, Alain, and their Welsh Terrier, Cardiff.
