Michelle Ferreira brings in-depth experience to the firm’s tax group. She has worked in both the private and the public sectors of tax, as she was formerly a tax litigator for the IRS Office of Chief Counsel for eight years. Michelle litigates federal and state tax controversies involving individuals, partnerships, estates, and corporations in tax and penalty disputes. She represents clients in federal and state tax controversies before the IRS at the audit, collection, appeals, and litigation stages. Michelle also assists clients with state and local tax matters, representing them before the California Franchise Tax Board, the State Board of Equalization, the Employment Development Department, and county Assessment Appeals Boards.
