Professional Biography

Mia Hayes serves financial industry clients in both corporate and transactional matters, including advising on fund formation, restructurings and joint ventures, as well as a variety of employment, advising and trading agreements.

Knowledge backed by a wealth of experience
Before joining Katten, Mia served as a Public Interest Law Initiative graduate fellow at Illinois Legal Aid Online. She researched and updated online content to empower Illinois residents to seek justice and resolve their legal problems.

During law school, Mia developed professional and interpersonal skills which have prepared her to effectively serve clients. She served as the president of the Moot Court Honor Society and won the 2020 Ilana Diamond Rovner Appellate Advocacy Competition, 2021 McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition, and placed second in the Hunton Andrews Kurth Moot Court National Championship, where she and her partner won Best Brief. Mia also participated in the C-K Law Group Civil Litigation Clinic. There, she assisted clients and published an article in Bender's Labor & Employment Bulletin. Mia was also a member of the Chicago-Kent Law Review, where her student note was published in the 97th volume.
