Professional Biography

Rose specialises in intellectual property matters. Rose has experience advising clients on protection, exploitation and enforcement in relation to the full range of intellectual property rights (trade marks, passing off, patents, copyright, designs and misuse of confidential information), advising on contentious and transactional matters. She acts for clients in industries including retail, technology, manufacturing, banking, insurance, charities and healthcare. 

Rose’s contentious practice includes pursuing and defending intellectual property claims, and she has experience advising on issues including ownership, validity, subsistence, registrability, infringement and defences. She has worked on claims in the High Court and Court of Appeal, and is particularly involved in cases issued in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, and has experience of handling specialist small claims. Rose has led on actions in the UK Company Names Tribunal and Nominet's Dispute Resolution Service, and has knowledge of other alternative dispute resolution processes. She has successfully settled a number of disputes for clients. 

Rose's transactional experience involves advising on intellectual property issues and opportunities arising out of corporate transactions, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements involving intellectual property, such as development agreements and licensing arrangements, as well as transfers of intellectual property. Rose has also worked with clients on intellectual property portfolio management, and the prosecution of applications for trade marks and designs.
