Scott A. Penner is a senior counsel and intellectual property lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. His practice focuses on patent litigation for client technologies ranging from medical devices to computer software (Internet advertising, encryption, video compression, dynamic libraries, and audio playback) to hardware design (semiconductors, microprocessors, and garage door openers). Mr. Penner is a member of the firm’s IP Litigation Practice.
Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Penner was an associate with Fish & Richardson where he worked on a broad range of cases as both defense and plaintiff’s counsel for Fortune 100 companies to start-ups throughout the country including the ITC. He also worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Martin Jenkins for the Northern District of California. Prior to law school, Mr. Penner was a project manager at Tellme Networks and Microsoft Corporation, as well as a lead systems engineer for mybesthealth.com.
