Lina Fernandez

Professional Biography

Lina Fernandez is a member of the Cross-Border Practice Group at Ogletree Deakins, providing labor and employment law advice and solutions to clients around the globe. She is based in the firm’s Boston office.

Lina’s experience includes assisting clients with multijurisdictional corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, financing efforts, and restructuring.

She counsels employers on a variety of personnel matters, including hiring, background checks, restrictive covenant agreements, worker classification, discipline, employee terminations, reductions in force, and discrimination and anti-retaliation laws. Lina also supports clients with advice on the development and implementation of human resources and workplace policies.

As a native Spanish speaker who has practiced employment law in Colombia (at Parra Rodriquez and Gomez-Pinzon), Lina is able to provide expert guidance on workforce matters to clients with operations in Latin America. Before joining Ogletree Deakins, Lina was a member of the Labor & Employment team at Goodwin Procter LLP. Earlier, she served as Judicial LL.M. Law Clerk to the Honorable Judge William Young at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
