After this summer’s ‘crypto winter’ – when cryptocurrencies and digital assets lost more than a trillion dollars in value – Web3, it was said, was dead. But Web3 is very much alive, due in part to the utility of underlying blockchain technologies, and as evidenced by the continued emergence of new laws and regulations and last month’s White House release titled “First-Ever Comprehensive Framework for Responsible Development of Digital Assets.” 

Joni Polsinelli for a discussion about how Web3 and specifically decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) – those established by “smart contracts” where decisions are made by a community organized around a specific set of rules enforced on a blockchain – are structured and formed, and how early adopters like Tennessee, Utah, and Colorado are legislating or analyzing related legal issues, including personal liability and cybersecurity.
