Coronavirus News

The coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China has made front page news across the globe recently, and The National Law Review is keeping the legal industry constantly informed of all the relevant news around this serious health emergency. Although not classified yet as a pandemic, the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting U.S. companies in a variety of ways, from human resources and travel, to employee safety and liability, to public interaction and supply chain interruption. While this rapidly developing news cycle continues to erupt, we’re keeping our fingers on the pulse of both the legal industry and the nation, while keeping an eye on the rest of the world as well.

Initially  named SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus disease is now commonly called COVID-19, and it has been documented in nearly all of the world’s seven continents, excepting  only Antarctica). Cases have been documented in more than 70 countries and territories, growing past more than 90,000 across the globe and resulting in a rapidly  climbing death toll.

In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued travel warnings for travel to China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, and Japan, and the list continues to grow. Many businesses have imposed restrictions on employee travel, and are scrambling to plan for interruptions to supply chains, increases in employee absenteeism, public events, insurance, and more.

Keeping our streams of information, news, legislation, reactions, and developments open seven days a week means we serve as a hub for information across many legal, health, employer and employee, human resources, and many more industry sectors. We publish hourly updates, seven days a week, to make sure the latest legal information is always available as soon as it is reported.
