James P. Martin

im Martin represents clients in all aspects of their business matters. He works hand-in-hand with banking and financial institutions, corporations and developers, among other clients, to learn their business needs, and helps address legal issues that arise throughout the lifetime of their business. Ultimately, Jim’s goal is to help clients develop legal strategies that are a best fit for their unique business needs, including litigation when necessary.

Jim concentrates his practice in the area of commercial and business litigation, with an emphasis on financial and fiduciary matters, including:

  • Contract disputes and business torts

  • Shareholder/member disputes and derivative claims

  • Officer/director liability

  • Construction and real estate

  • Government contracts

  • Uniform Commercial Code litigation

  • Advising in-house counsel and corporate management

  • Trial and appellate work

Jim’s background is unique for his proficiency in speaking German, as well as his diverse educational pursuits which have included studies at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in Heidelberg, Germany.
