Lauren Douglas is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP.  Lauren is based in the Boston office where she is a member of Foley’s Transactional Practice, focusing on Fund Formation & Investment Management. She is also a member of the firm’s Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Team.  Lauren graduated from the Wake Forest University School of Law, where she was a member of the Business Law Society and served as the Managing Editor of the Wake Forest Law Review.

Before joining Foley, Lauren was a summer associate with two other full service law firms and continued to work for each during the academic year.  At these firms, Lauren supported both the transaction and litigation departments.  On the transactional side, she drafted Purchase and Sale Agreements, prepared articles of organization and operating agreements for startup companies, and helped finalize corporate stock award agreements and dividend documents.  She also spent considerable time drafting and reviewing the definitive documents for an expedited Series A financing round.  Lauren also assisted in commercial real estate closings and property transfers, specifically by drafting closing documents, conducting full title searches and UCC-11 searches, and filing UCC-1 and UCC-3 reports.  

On the litigation side, Lauren spent much of her time drafting motions and pleadings for various stages of corporate litigation, including a complaint for a qui tam lawsuit against a Fortune 500 company and the litigious dissolution of a $24M commercial real estate company.  She also assisted in numerous breach of contract cases and landlord-tenant disputes.
