Linyu’s work involves patent prosecution in the area of biotechnology, including molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, neurobiology, stem cell technology, cancer therapeutics, and genetic engineering.
Her doctoral research in cell and developmental biology focused on characterizing the molecular mechanism underlying Mucolipidosis type IV, a neurological degeneration disease, which can develop in children. She also investigated the role of TRPML3, an endosomal cation channel, in the development of kidney epithelial cells. While studying at Tsinghua University in China, she specialized in cell and molecular biology and conducted research on the TGF-beta signaling pathway.
