Kaylan’s practice focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on complex energy, banking, and real estate disputes, and fiduciary litigation with an emphasis on trust and estate disputes. Kaylan excels at courtroom advocacy and legal writing. Clients value her adeptness in quickly mastering complex facts and legal arguments to evaluate and develop compelling case strategies from the inception of a case. These skills, coupled with Kaylan’s niche for creative advocacy, have led her to assume the role as lead and co-counsel on multiple cases just days or weeks before the start of trial.

Throughout her career, Kaylan has successfully represented clients across industries in matters involving breach of contract, negligence, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, trespass and other torts in state and federal court, arbitration and mediation. Kaylan’s clients include both public and private energy companies, commercial property owners, national banks, tech start-up companies, trust companies, private equity firms and individuals alike.

In her fiduciary litigation practice, Kaylan has represented fiduciaries and beneficiaries in multimillion-dollar lawsuits involving executors, trustees, guardians, and other fiduciaries. She has represented clients in will contests, will and trust interpretation disputes, guardianships, cy pres matters, and prosecution and defense of various fiduciary claims.
