Michael A. Naranjo

Professional Biography

Michael A. Naranjo is a partner and litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Mr. Naranjo represents corporate clients in all aspects of complex business litigation and counseling. He is a member of the firm’s Antitrust and Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practices.

Mr. Naranjo has developed extensive experience in the field of antitrust law and represents clients with respect to civil antitrust litigation, defense of government antitrust investigations, and counseling relating to compliance with state and federal antitrust laws. Mr. Naranjo also possesses significant experience concerning unfair competition law, including counseling and litigation pursuant to California’s Business and Professions Code section 17200.

In addition to the areas of antitrust and unfair competition, Mr. Naranjo also represents clients with respect to intellectual property litigation and counseling. Mr. Naranjo’s work in the area of intellectual property emphasizes trade secret litigation, counseling concerning the protection of trade secrets and protection against employee raiding, and counseling and litigation pertaining to intellectual property licensing.

Mr. Naranjo has also developed substantive experience in emerging areas of litigation. For example, Mr. Naranjo works with commercial clients concerning privacy issues, computer fraud and abuse, and the enforcement of state and federal consumer protection laws in the context of online commerce.

Mr. Naranjo’s other representative engagements include litigation concerning reinsurance and risk sharing agreements, partnership dissolution and breach of fiduciary duty, insurance coverage, real estate transactions, and securities class actions and other shareholder claims. In addition to litigation at the trial court level, Mr. Naranjo has also briefed and argued several cases before the state and federal appellate courts.
