Family Law / Divorce / Custody

The National Law Review covers news relating to family law issues. From child custody battles to financial support for spouses, to divorce and marriage counseling, visitors can gather information on changes to the laws regulating these issues as well as general best practices in these situations.  Visitors can read content which details all stages of divorce proceedings, the sale of marital assets, distribution of property after a divorce, and how child custody disputes are managed after a divorce is finalized. Articles also depict how valuation and calculation of assets are used in certain instances, where high-valued real estate or the sale of marital estates come into play during certain divorce proceedings.

Estate planning and trust administration for children is often involved in a divorce. And, in some cases, the court has to impose spousal support, namely where only one spouse earns income and the other cares for the children at home. The National Law Review covers all aspects of divorce, child custody battles, and litigation or mediation hearings which can be required by the court in some proceedings. Visitors can also learn about how divorce can affect military pensions, social security benefits, and lead to potential issues with estate planning (wills and trusts), which can arise from divorce.

Additionally, the National Law Review covers family law matters related to immigration, including changes to spousal visas in popular visa categories, including H-1B visas.

A majority of the family law coverage on the National Law Review is an analysis of laws and actions at the state level, and some which arise to the federal level, including cases where same-sex marriages or rights to foster care payments are involved. Or, in cases where federal benefits and spousal receipt are involved, divorce proceedings are heard at the federal court level. Additionally, the National Law Review covers information related to adoption, as well as up to the date information on Supreme Court rulings related to family law, such as the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage and the Supreme Court decision on the Defense of Marriage Act.   The National Law Review covers a broad range of news, details, and litigation battles in the realm of family and divorce law.
