CTIA and T-Mobile Messaging Best Practices Here: Quick Supplement to DNC.com’s BIG CTIA Interview Today
Wednesday, March 24, 2021

Hey folks

Hope you all had a chance to attend DNC.com’s big interview with the CTIA today to discuss messaging best practices. It was a great show.

Figured I’d provide a bit of a supplement to that piece. Specifically I provide the best practice guides you just heard so much about.

First, here is the CTIA-Messaging-Principles-and-Best-Practices-2019.

This is the applicable guide for best practices that CTIA–one of the wireless carriers’ trade associations–puts out to provide guidance for the industry. (CTIA will be quick to point out that they don’t mandate carriers comply with these, but as a practical matter they’re pretty important.)

Second, here is the CTIA Short Code Monitoring Handbook – v1.8

These are the rules that the folks issuing shortcode are supposed to enforce. (Remember, however, that exemptions from the carriers are sometimes available.)

Third–bonus content–these are T-Mobile Code of Conduct_V2.2 [Nov 13] (1)

That last one is pretty self-explanatory and is an important read for anyone curious about message deliverability on one of America’s largest cell networks.

Figured this would be useful content for all. And I’m always happy to discuss further, of course.

Unrelated, I know we’re a little lean on content this week but there was this basketball tournament this weekend and, well, I just didn’t get much blogging done. More content this week (especially if Facebook is decided tomorrow.)

Last but not least, great job today Neal!
