iGamasonic Ltd. (“Gamasonic”), an Israeli corporation with a place of business in Tel Aviv, filed a patent infringement action on September 30, 2014 against Solar Goes Green, LLC (“Solar”), an Indiana corporation, with a principal place of business in Huntington, Indiana, relating to 7,172,307 (the ‘307 Patent) directed to a solar powered garden light, which issued on February 6, 2007. According to the complaint, Solar announced a new product via newsletter in June 2014 – the “SSG-Coach-10 Solar Light” – which infringes the ‘307 Patent, and began making sales in August 2014. Products have allegedly been offered through Amazon.com and Al Solar Solutions.
Solar is accused of wilful infringement with knowledge of the ‘307 Patent, contributory infringement, and inducement of infringement. Gamasonic seeks an accounting, an injunction, turnover of infringing products for destruction, treble damages, reasonable attorney’s fees, prejudgment interest, and costs.
The case is Gamasonic Ltd. v. Solar Goes Green, LLC, No. 1:14-cv-03133, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, on September 30, 2014, and assigned to U.S. District Judge Timothy C. Batten, Sr.
