Digital marketing company ExactTarget recently issued its latest Audience Growth Survey that provides good insight into what is working for marketers when it comes to growing an email list with quality subscribers.

Almost 400 marketers were interviewed for the study, which examined the most popular subscriber growth tactics as well as the perceived effectiveness of each tactic in attracting high quality subscribers.

It is interesting to note that some of the least-used tactics provide the best results – for example, only 23% of marketers said they capture email addresses from prospects who call in, but this tactic has one of the highest effective rates (63%) for getting high quality names added to an email list.
