The 20 MW Big Turtle Wind Farm in Rubicon Township (Huron County) Michigan  will be built by Heritage Sustainable Energy and will sell its electricity to DTE Energy.

More than 50 percent of the project input will be coming from Michigan, including all the turbine towers which will be supplied by Ventower in Monroe.  This will also be the first U.S. project to use 2.0 MW Gamesa Technology Corp. wind turbines designed for low wind conditions (114 meter rotor span)
