Professional Biography

Adam Gajadharsingh focuses on commercial litigation, data security, and insurance coverage disputes, along with a variety of other subject matter areas. As a former business owner, he also brings first-hand knowledge of running a company when helping clients with their corporate legal needs.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Adam practiced at a firm based in Washington, D.C., and with two other firms based in Atlanta. Adam has handled general corporate, class action, insurance defense, breach of contract, unfair competition, Lanham Act and landlord/tenant disputes. He has managed all aspects of complex discovery, taken and defended numerous depositions, argued substantive motions in court, and won a breach of contract jury trial as first-chair.

Adam has significant experience in the field data security, knowledge management, and e-discovery. He is also well-versed in privilege protection, having developed procedures and training protocols to help ensure that privileged and work product material is not inadvertently produced during the discovery process. Adam has trained hundreds of attorneys regarding privilege law and has reviewed and/or challenged the validity of thousands of privilege coding determinations. He has also presented on data security and privacy issues.

Adam brings not only a strong legal background, through his years of private practice, but also a unique business background, having owned and operated restaurants and bars in the Atlanta area. One business was opened in early 2009, just as the economy was struggling, so he appreciates the realities of making payroll, controlling costs and building a business from scratch. He enjoys working with all sizes of companies to help them grow and protect their business.
