Alex Thrasher is an attorney in the Construction Practice Group who represents owners, general contractors and subcontractors across the country in complex commercial disputes. In addition, Alex advises clients on a range of other legal issues, including strategic business and project planning, contract drafting and negotiation, contract administration, government contracting, and lien and bond claims. He also represents and advises clients in real estate transactions and other general commercial matters.

Whether litigating in a courtroom or advising clients in day-to-day affairs, Alex utilizes a business-minded approach to his workup of a case and his counsel to clients. Prior to law school, Alex was a project manager for an industrial contractor where he worked with owners, engineers, fabricators, and other contractors to complete construction projects in the power generation, water and wastewater, oil and gas, and pulp and paper industries. He draws on this prior experience to understand the challenges his clients face and to provide well-informed legal solutions that add forward-looking value to clients’ businesses and that minimize the costs associated with after-the-fact resolution of disputes.

Alex graduated (magna cum laude) from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where he was the recipient of the Daniel Austin Brewer Professionalism Award and an editor of the Cumberland Law Review. He earned a B.A. in International and Area Studies from Washington University in St. Louis.
