Christina M. Schmid

Ms. Schmid represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including employment discrimination actions, contract disputes, wage and hour disputes, and other employment-related litigation before federal and state courts, state and local human rights agencies, and in arbitration proceedings.  She also regularly counsels employers regarding employment agreements, employment policies and handbooks, terminations, recent legal developments, and other related employment issues.

EXPERIENCE

  • Obtained summary judgment for major performance venue on commercial contract claim, and won affirmance of decision in N.Y. Appellate Division, 1st Department
  • Successfully defended large health system on claims of discrimination and retaliation in numerous matters in both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as in New York State court
  • Represented employers in the hospitality industry in numerous matters involving federal and state wage and hour claims
