McNair Nichols is an associate in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on internal investigations, government enforcement, white-collar defense, and government contracts disputes. He also represents clients in private litigation and provides counsel regarding a wide range of compliance issues.
McNair represents corporations and individuals across a variety of industries who are subject to government investigations, enforcement, and other regulatory actions. He has assisted in the representation of individuals, companies, and financial institutions before the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and a variety of state regulatory authorities. He has also represented companies and individuals subject to civil litigation in state and federal court.
Further, McNair has represented contractors and subcontractors in major government contract disputes and has provided guidance to contractors seeking advice regarding a range of public procurement compliance issues. His experience includes navigating False Claims Act (FCA) issues in both the internal investigations and litigation contexts. He also has experience counseling clients in connection with rated orders and allocation orders received pursuant to the Defense Production Act (DPA).
Additionally, McNair engages in pro bono matters at K&L Gates, including the representation of a client in federal habeas proceedings and participating in efforts to identify and remedy wrongful convictions.
