Deb concentrates her practice in the areas of employment law and transactional matters, including acquisitions, mergers and commercial contracts. She is the Chair of the firm's Business and Corporate Organizations Practice and Agribusiness Practice. Deb is Vice Chair of the firm's Healthcare Practice, and she regularly provides counsel to healthcare providers on issues related to employment and contractual matters. She is also the firm's current Hiring Partner.
Deb's employment law experience includes litigation in state and federal court, representation before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, National Labor Relations Board, Illinois Department of Human Rights, Illinois Human Rights Commission, and the Department of Labor, and hearings before the Illinois Department of Employment Security. She routinely counsels and guides employers through the extensive number of laws and regulations governing the employment relationship. She works with employers to avoid litigation when possible by counseling them on matters such as employee discipline, terminations, non-compete agreements, independent contractor agreements, employment policies, wage and hour matters, and severance agreements.
