Gregory R. Hawran

Professional Biography

Gregory Robert Hawran is an of counsel attorney in the Miami office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C.  Mr. Hawran’s practice focuses primarily on labor and employment litigation.  Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Mr. Hawran clerked for the Honorable Edwin G. Torres of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Hawran is a 2008 cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where he served as the Managing Editor of the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review and received CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Civil Procedure II.  Mr. Hawran received his B.A., with departmental distinction, in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Mr. Hawran also currently serves in the United States Army Reserves where he is a Major in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps.  In 2014, Mr. Hawran mobilized and deployed in support of the Operation Enduring Freedom and served as the Command Judge Advocate for Area Support Group-QA at Camp As Sayliyah in Doha, Qatar.  In his capacity as the chief legal advisor to the commander, he handled a variety of legal issues throughout Qatar and the Middle East ranging from military justice, administrative law, federal fiscal law, ethics regulations, and DoD contracting.

Mr. Hawran is fluent in Polish.
