Allen Pu is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firm’s Silicon Valley office.

Areas of Practice

Allen’s practice focuses on patent prosecution, strategic portfolio development and counseling. Informed by his technical degrees and industry work experience, Allen drafts and prosecutes complex technology applications for his clients in a wide range of technology areas, including social networking systems, artificial intelligence systems, and autonomous driving systems. 

Allen has a wide range of technical expertise. His technical background includes a M.S. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in VLSI design, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in semiconductor processing, and a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering with an emphasis in electronic materials.

Allen worked as an engineer in the aerospace and defense industry for 15 years prior to his law practice. While working at Raytheon, Allen gained extensive knowledge in space-based sensor systems, including synthetic-aperture radar, infrared, and visible sensors. While working at SSL, Allen gained extensive knowledge in all aspects of satellite systems, including data handling, power control, solar array, batteries, attitude control, and propulsion.
