Jacob is a principal in the firm's litigation and intellectual property groups, and is founder of the firm's cybersecurity and data privacy practice. Jacob's practice focuses on a wide range of technology issues for his clients, from strategic intellectual property portfolio development, protection, and litigation, to the myriad issues surrounding the retention and protection of critical business data.

Jacob works closely with his clients to understand their business goals and their technology issues to help them intelligently and effectively leverage their intellectual property assets into realized value. He provides clients with strategic business and intellectual property counseling and defends his client's interests in complex commercial, intellectual property, and technology disputes throughout the United States and in front of government regulatory bodies including the International Trade Commission and the patent and trademark office, including Inter Partes Review proceedings.

Jacob also advises and assists clients regarding the retention and protection of business and customer data. From cybersecurity prevention and protection best practices, to understanding the legal and regulatory obligations placed on businesses regarding the use, storage, and transfer of personal, confidential, or otherwise sensitive data, Jacob helps clients prepare for success in the fast-changing environment of data security and data privacy.
