Jamison Gilmore

Professional Biography

 Jamison Gilmore is a 3L at Southwestern Law School where he is on the Board of Governors for Southwestern’s Moot Court Program and an Associate Editor for Southwestern’s Law Review. Prior to law school, Mr. Gilmore obtained a B.A. in political science with an emphasis in political theory and a legal certification from California State University of Long Beach. While at CSULB, Mr. Gilmore competed in Moot Court, served as the President of CSULB’s Political Science Honor Society, and was selected to complete an honors thesis delving into challenges to legal formalism. At that same time, Mr. Gilmore completed an apprenticeship with the now retired Judge Arthur Jean of the Los Angeles Superior Court where Mr. Gilmore attended 100+ hours of trials and motion practice, discussing his observations with Judge Jean.

Since studying at Southwestern, Mr. Gilmore has achieved top grades, clerked for various entertainment law firms, and has externed for Federal Magistrate Judge Michael R. Wilner in the Central District of California. Giving back to his Southwestern community, Mr. Gilmore has also served as a Dean’s Fellow, a board member of the Peer Mentor Program, and an honorary executive board member of the Women’s Law Association. Mr. Gilmore has accepted an associate position at Haight Brown & Bonesteel in its Los Angeles office, which will begin in the Fall of 2018.

Mr. Gilmore has strong demonstrated interests in the video game, technology, and entertainment industries. Mr. Gilmore has excelled in courses taken at Southwestern, including Video Game Agreements, Intellectual Property Licensing, and Mass Media Law collecting multiple CALI and Witkin awards along the way. Additionally, Mr. Gilmore has shined at the National Moot Court Competition and the National Telecommunications Moot Court Competition, which respectively focused on the nuances of electronic data storage and the FCC’s regulation of devices operating on the unlicensed electromagnetic spectrum.

In Mr. Gilmore’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a 3L at Southwestern Law School, as well as playing first-person shooters, listening to funk music, and playing with his dog and cat.
