Kayla represents employers in all areas of labor and employment, including claims of discrimination, accommodation, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and wage and hour disputes. She has experience in Private Attorney General Act (“PAGA”), class actions, and administrative claims.

Kayla also advises employers in preventative strategies and proactive compliance to minimize exposure to litigation risks. With a professional background in policy analysis, she enjoys the opportunity to work with clients to develop workplace policies on a range of employment issues, such as the prevention of sexual harassment, promotion and discipline, workplace violence, leave, and compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

During law school, she was actively involved in moot court competitions and co-authored a problem heard by a panel of active judges. She served as a law clerk for the San Francisco District Attorney’s office and a judicial extern at the Ninth Circuit with the Honorable Judge Marsha Berzon.

Kayla maintains a robust pro bono practice that ranges from employment advising for non-profit institutions, affirmative asylum, and criminal justice policy initiatives. She is a member of the firm’s Women in Healthcare Leadership Collaborative litigation group.
