Michael J. Wilder is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He focuses his practice on corporate and international tax issues. He has extensive experience in structuring corporate mergers and dispositions, spin-offs, liquidations, cross-border transfers, and financing instruments, as well as in the areas of consolidated returns, bankruptcy, and insolvency tax matters. He is a frequent speaker on these issues. Michael represents a number of clients in seeking private letter rulings from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and in handling audit and appeals matters. He is an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School and currently co-teaches a class on advanced international taxation.
