Professional Biography

Michael Hushion is an associate in the Cincinnati, Ohio office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He strives to understand and solve his clients’ workplace challenges through a personal approach.

Kent began his employment law practice with his very first file after becoming a licensed attorney. That file involved defending claims of race and sex discrimination levied against his client, a nonprofit based in Columbus, Ohio. Kent enjoyed advising that client to a successful result so much that he focused on developing a robust employment practice. Since then, he has defended employers before the OCRC, the EEOC, and in state and federal court against an array of claims, such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour, and wrongful termination. Kent has also assisted employers with applying their personnel policies, reviewing requests for accommodations, and determining employee discipline.

Before joining Jackson Lewis, Kent was an associate with a regional law firm, where he worked in all aspects of litigation across various practice areas. He has prepared briefs for filing with the Supreme Court of Ohio, presented oral arguments before several Courts of Appeals of Ohio, drafted dozens of dispositive motions in both state and federal court, and taken and defended depositions. He relies on his litigation experience to secure favorable and desirable outcomes for his clients that face workplace-related dilemmas.

Kent resides near Dayton, Ohio, with his wife, their two-year-old son, and their eight-year-old black lab rescue. If he is not chasing his toddler around the house or walking his dog through the neighborhood, then Kent is likely golfing at his local municipal course.
