Michael Sachs is a Partner with In-House Counsel Recruiting, based in Chicago. He specializes in placing lawyers at all levels—from junior counsel to general counsel—in corporate and university legal departments. Over the years, Mike has spearheaded critical searches in numerous industries, including healthcare, energy, financial services, consumer products, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, manufacturing and higher education. His clients have ranged from Fortune 500 companies with very large law departments to privately owned organizations with small legal teams and start-ups looking to build up their legal teams. Mike is committed to getting to know his clients and understanding their unique culture, which makes his job of finding the best person for a specific opportunity that much more achievable. 

Mike has a deep passion and understanding for diversity. He counsels his clients on the importance of building a diverse team and, in turn, endeavors to submit a diverse slate for every search. Mike is also a frequent speaker at law schools on the topic of career planning and development. Over the last decade, Mike has authored numerous articles concerning challenges and opportunities in corporate legal recruiting. 

Mike has written two screenplays and is an avid runner, tennis player and bowler. Mike is dad to two young “human” children and also a beloved family dog.
