Muqeet is a member of the General Corporate and M&A
Practice of the research and strategy driven international law
firm, Nishith Desai Associates.

AREAS OF PROVEN EXPERTISE

Muqeet has experience in advising clients on mergers and
acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, regulatory issues and
dispute resolution. With background in the insurance space, he
has been involved in advising joint venture partners of major
insurance players in the Indian market. He offers integrated and
holistic advice from a legal, regulatory and cross-border
perspective. In addition to his insurance practice, he has
advised clients in health-tech, power generation, and aviation
sector.
A representative transaction involved advising a South African
conglomerate in its exit from India’s aviation sector with the deal
value of USD 230 million, involving, drafting and negotiation,
regulatory and documentary analysis, transaction management,
litigation strategy and dispute resolution.

BUILDING BLOCKS

An alumnus of the West Bengal National University of Juridical
Sciences and Columbia Law School, Muqeet is a member of the
Bar Council of Delhi and has passed the New York bar exam
(with admission pending subject to completion of formalities).
Muqeet joined NDA in 2023. The firm has been consistently
ranked amongst the world's Most Innovative Law Firms. In fact,
NDA has been the proud recipient of the award 4 times in a row
(2014-2017) as the Most Innovative Indian Law Firm.

OUT OF OFFICE

While not lawyering, Muqeet loves exploring new places, and
has a special fondness for cities. He is an avid reader with a
love for libraries and bookstores. Muqeet is also a beginner level
skier, fond of hiking, and exploring museums, and theatres. He
also dabbles in graphic design.
