Nishanth heads the International Dispute Resolution and
Investigations Practice at the Bengaluru office of Nishith Desai
Associates.

AREAS OF PROVEN EXPERTISE

Nishanth’s areas of expertise include international arbitration,
commercial and regulatory laws and white-collar crimes. He has
represented clients in domestic and international arbitrations
(including under the LCIA and SIAC Rules) in complex
commercial disputes spanning across the construction, fintech,
energy and manufacturing sectors. Nishanth has extensive
experience in advising on strategies in cross-border shareholder
disputes, having assisted several clients navigate complex
arbitrability issues that arise under Indian law in proceedings
before National Company Law Tribunals and arbitral tribunals.
He also routinely appears before the Karnataka High Court and
the Commercial Courts at Bengaluru. Nishanth’s experience in
dealing with white-collar crimes includes successfully
representing clients before Special Court for Economic Offences
and Criminal Courts in disputes arising out of commercial
relationships.

BUILDING BLOCKS

Nishanth holds a master’s degree in International Arbitration and
Dispute Resolution from the National University of Singapore.
He is an alumnus of National Law University Odisha, where he
was a member of various student committees. He has also won
several accolades in debate competitions.

OUT OF OFFICE

In his free time, Nishanth enjoys playing Badminton and
travelling to lesser-known destinations.
