Robert O'Hare

Professional Biography

Robert O’Hare is a senior tax policy advisor in the firm’s Tax Strategy & Benefits Practice Group. He is predominantly based in the London office.

Robert has wide-ranging experience of advising clients on the full range of domestic and international tax issues. He has specialist knowledge and experience that encompasses UK and cross-border corporate acquisitions, public market and financing transactions, restructuring and insolvency, alongside both private equity and retail investment fund structuring. He also provides strategic advice on politics and international law.

Robert’s current work primarily focuses on international, regional and local efforts to address the tax challenges arising from the digitalization of the global economy. He also focuses on the tax and wider policy implications of Brexit.

Robert has a particular interest in the technical law and the evolution of tax policy. He has written for numerous publications and delivered public presentations on a variety of topics. Robert also serves as a professional support lawyer in the Tax Strategy & Benefits Practice Group.

Robert was a founding member of the LexisNexis Lexis®PSL Tax team, playing a leading role in creating and developing the online, practical guidance and current awareness product for tax lawyers. Robert has spent his entire career specializing in tax law. He trained and qualified as a tax solicitor at a preeminent international law firm, worked for another leading firm in the city of London and for one of the “Big Four” accounting firms. Robert is a Master of Laws in tax law and a Master of Science in the theory and history of international relations.

Robert is a trustee of a small charity dedicated to assisting gifted and disadvantaged pupils (particularly those with an interest in business and economics) to attend university.
