Professional Biography

Savian Gray-Sommerville is an associate in the firm’s Litigation & Government Investigations practice. He represents clients in environmental, civil, and commercial litigation matters spanning a variety of sectors, as well as representing clients involved in government investigations.

Prior to joining the firm, Savian was a litigation associate at another law firm where he represented Fortune 500 Companies. He completed a summer clerkship with the Chief U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of North Carolina and a separate summer clerkship with the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. Savian also spent time working with the United States Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of North Carolina in the Criminal and Appellate Divisions.

Savian is experienced with all phases of the litigation process and understands appellate procedure in our federal and state courts. As a result, Savian vigorously advocates for his clients and aims to resolve disputes before appeals become necessary.

During law school, Savian was an Articles Editor of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. He served on the University of North Carolina (UNC) Black Law Student Association Mock Trial Team and the UNC National Moot Court Team. His Moot Court Team went on to win first place at the National Moot Court Competition. During his final year of law school, Savian worked in the UNC Consumer Financial Transactions Clinic and the UNC Youth Justice Clinic representing clients in a variety of matters. In addition to his studies and other activities, Savian enjoyed mentoring first-year law students and being involved with the Christian Legal Society.
