Professional Biography

Valerie K. Jackson is an Associate in the Boston, Massachusetts, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on labor and employment law, with a particular emphasis on labor relations, and employment law counseling and litigation.

Ms. Jackson regularly advises clients in higher education, healthcare and other sectors regarding traditional labor law issues, employer rights and obligations in the unionized workplace and other applicable labor and employment laws.

Ms. Jackson also advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment law matters, including litigation under state and federal anti-discrimination statutes.

Before joining Jackson Lewis, Ms. Jackson worked as an attorney for a university in Boston. Ms. Jackson was involved in the university’s labor and employment law matters. Ms. Jackson’s experience working in-house gives her an understanding of how labor and employment law issues impact a client’s business operations, and the unique challenges faced by college and university clients.

While attending law school, Ms. Jackson interned for a magistrate judge in the U. S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and in the Economic Crimes Unit of the United States Attorney’s Office in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Jackson also served on the Northeastern University Law Journal.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Jackson worked for a commercial bank in Providence, Rhode Island.

At Holy Cross, Ms. Jackson was a four-year member and senior captain of the varsity rowing team. She competed in the Head of the Charles Regatta and in the Henley Women’s Regatta in Henley, England.
