A123 Systems has announced it will produce the Nano phosphate EXT cell next year.  The cells can be used longer and operate more efficiently in extremely high and low temperatures than lithium-ion battery packs that reduces the need for temperature control systems.  "That will eliminate weight, cost, technical complexity," said David Vieau, CEO of A123.
