Caroline Upton is Of Counsel at Barnes & Thornburg's Chicago office. Caroline represents companies, institutions, merchants, manufacturers, and other policyholders across the asset management, banking and financial services, commodities trading, energy and natural resources, gaming, healthcare and medical device manufacturing, and technology industries.

She advises on issues of general liability, directors’ and officers’ (D&O) and errors and omissions (E&O) liability, professional liability, cargo and marine claims, first-party property and business interruption risks, product liability, Bermuda Forms claims, and more. She is also experienced in handling day-to-day discovery, motion practice and other aspects of complex coverage litigation.

Before joining Barnes & Thornburg, Caroline gained skills as an associate and summer associate with a global law firm and as a judicial intern for the Hon. Sara Darrow of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
