Jeffrey Hunter is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura based in Washington, DC.

Jeff’s disruptive-technology background began at an investment company where he served as a Vice President and was responsible for development and implementation of quantitative and high frequency trading systems. Jeff managed a more than $250 million budget and oversaw multi-faceted project teams responsible for rollouts of trading technology platforms across the globe during the firm’s expansion. He also served as a member of the steering and program management team that launched DLJDirect.com, a leading online brokerage platform.

Due to his work in digital transformation and data-driven business models and data science at DLJ, Jeff was asked to found OANDA.com, where he created and implemented the corporate structure, business plan, and strategy for the company. OANDA.com specialized in foreign exchange/interest rate trading using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence. As President and Chief Information Officer, Jeff generated new venture capital funding ($140 million) and established the new components necessary to transform the company for the new digital economy in financial services. He established trading platforms, risk management systems, regulatory presence, web portal, and the online foreign exchange trading platforms. Under his leadership, OANDA.com successfully launched two trading platforms including FXTrade.com, the world’s largest online FX Trading platform with over one million customers and $200 million in revenue.
