Professional Biography

Katelyn takes a forward-thinking approach to complex litigation involving environmental and toxic tort claims, and is dedicated to achieving the best results.

Katelyn takes a multi-faceted approach to defending waste and recycling companies, manufacturers, and trade associations in state and federal environmental, class action, and toxic tort litigation. Katelyn’s trial and appellate practice includes successfully defending removal to federal court, securing early dismissal of three putative class actions alleging nuisance and negligence claims, efficiently handling large-scale e-discovery, and marshalling complex factual and expert evidence to mount a strong defense. Katelyn is responsive to client needs, and works with the client’s legal and public relations teams to execute comprehensive and effective legal strategies.

Katelyn also has experience under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and related state laws, including representing a PRP in a large-scale CERCLA allocation. She also represents developers and municipalities in litigation related to land development and in connection with subdivision, site plan, rezoning, and other land use applications.

Before joining Beveridge & Diamond, Katelyn worked in land use and zoning, and at a commercial litigation firm handling complex commercial and business matters. She served as a legal intern at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2 Superfund Branch, and the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Environmental Protection Bureau. She additionally served as a judicial intern for the Hon. William D. Wall in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
