Kyle R. Bevan is an associate in the Orange County, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. and a member of the firm’s ERISA Complex Litigation group.

Kyle actively defends ERISA class action matters asserting claims for breach of fiduciary duty on both coasts of the country. He is litigating ERISA defined contribution plan excessive fee class actions and is involved in all aspects of initial motion practice, class certification, and discovery issues. Recently, he has been in the forefront of novel projects, teaming up with expert witnesses to fight class certification.

Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Kyle was a deputy city attorney for the City of Long Beach, defending the City in government tort liability matters, as well as in civil rights, police liability, and employee negligence. He has first-chaired jury trials in high-exposure federal lawsuits, and First Amendment cases. Kyle served as a strategic advisor to the City Council and the City’s police department. Before working for the City, Kyle practiced in public entity defense throughout the state of California.

Kyle also was a deputy district attorney for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. He first-chaired dozens of jury trials and successfully argued hundreds of dispositive motions in courts throughout the county.

While attending law school, Kyle was the articles editor of the UC Irvine Law Review. Kyle prepares every case like it will go to trial because he believes that places his clients in the best possible position to prevail and achieve their objectives.
