As an associate at a Washington, DC-based business consulting firm led by former Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, he aided clients in specialized defense contracting issues and security products and services. Before that, he served as a development coordinator and university justice at the George Washington University. In law school, he was a contributing editor on the Michigan Journal of International Law and served as the University of Michigan's Student General Counsel. After graduation, he clerked for the Hon. Patricia Breckenridge of the Missouri Supreme Court.
