Illinois Moves to Phase 4 of Re-Opening Plan
Thursday, June 25, 2020

Illinois is scheduled to transition to Phase 4 of its re-opening plan on June 26. While much of the State's (and City of Chicago's) Phase 3 guidelines will remain unchanged, Phase 4 ushers in a re-opening or expansion of services in certain industries, such as indoor dining, gyms, theaters, and museums.

The State has created a handy overview highlighting the main changes from Phase 3 to Phase 4. The most notable change is an increase in gathering size limits from 10 people to 50 people, with certain venues capped at the lesser of 50 people or 50 percent capacity. In restaurants, indoor dining and drinking will be permitted for parties of up to 10 people, with 6-foot social distancing maintained, while standing areas will be capped at 25 percent capacity.

For your convenience, the new Phase 4 guidelines can be found here:

As your business continues or restarts its operations, Much is here to help you craft relevant, achievable guidelines to try to keep you, your employees, and your customers safe. Of course, it's possible that the State's guidelines may change as summer progresses. We'll monitor developments and will keep you informed.
